You get a written engagement letter setting out the fee and the scope of work it covers. Nothing begins until you have read it and said yes.
Disbursements at cost
Searches, certificates and government charges are passed on at what they cost us, itemised, and estimated up front so the total is not a surprise.
Changes discussed first
If your matter turns out to involve more than the original scope, we stop, explain what has come up and agree the cost with you before doing the work.

The first conversation is free.
Before you commit to anything, we will talk through your matter at no charge — what it involves, what it is likely to cost, and whether you need a solicitor at all. Bring the contract, the letter, or just the question you cannot get a straight answer to.
If we are not the right firm for it, we will say so and point you to someone who is. If we are, you will have a written scope and fee before any work begins.
